About Balder House School
Balder House School is planning to open as an independent international school in Lärkstaden in the heart of Stockholm.
At Balder House, we will offer both the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP), providing students with a globally recognized and academically rigorous education. Our aim is to foster curiosity, critical thinking, and international-mindedness in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Education will be conducted in English, with Swedish or Swedish as acquisition (SVA) as mandatory subject, creating a truly international atmosphere that prepares students for further studies and careers around the world. Our dedicated and experienced staff will guide students through a broad and challenging curriculum that encourages both personal and academic growth.
Balder House School is planned to open in August 2026.
Tuition fee (IB MYP & IB DP)
Registration Fee
A one-time, non-refundable registration fee of 5 000 SEK is charged upon acceptance of a place at Balder House. This fee confirms the student’s enrolment and covers administrative costs related to admissions.
Tuition Fees
IB MYP (grades 6–9): 72 000 SEK per academic year
Pre-IB DP and IB DP (grades 10–12): 63 000 SEK per academic year
Tuition covers instruction, access to school facilities, school meals and standard educational materials. Fees are invoiced annually or termly based on the selected payment plan.

Academic pathways
Whether at the end of MYP (högstadiet) or IBDP (gymnasiet), students at Balder House have several options for continuing their education.
After MYP 4

Continue to Pre-DP (MYP 5) and IB DP – a challenging and internationally recognized three-year programme resulting in an IB Diploma that prepares students for university.

Apply to a Swedish upper secondary school (gymnasiet) – students may choose to transition to the national school system, gymnasiet, after MYP 4.

After IBDP
Study at a University or College
In Sweden:
The IB Diploma provides general eligibility (grundläggande behörighet) for Swedish universities. For some programs, specific subject requirements (särskild behörighet) may apply, depending on the field of study (e.g., sciences, engineering, medicine).

Internationally:
The IB Diploma is widely recognized and respected by universities around the world, including in the UK, USA, Canada, France, Australia, and more.
Some universities offer bonus points, scholarships, or advanced standing for high IB scores.
